"We Were Born to be Equal" by Vida Guzman, Caddo Parish Middle Magnet

Artist's Statement

Corrie ten Boom, motivated by God and love, became a historical hero. Growing in a family of love and acceptance reflects that she is the prime example of Righteous Among the Nations. Her family loved all when others wouldn't. Her family was punished and murdered for their actions. They risked their lives because they believed all people are equal. This painting represents Corrie ten Boom as she was later in life. The wrinkles represent the progress she made in her life. Her acts of service and love for others teaches us to do the right thing. Do the right thing even if it is hard.
