Author's Statement
This work is intended to draw comparisons, first between the Holocaust and the treatment of Asian-Americans in World War II and then to compare the treatment of Asian-Americans then to the recent mass shootings of Asian-Americans in California. In using the story of a Jewish family who married into a Japanese and African-American family. I try to explain how even though they escaped from Germany and came to America they still experienced racism that strongly echoed the anti-semitism they experienced in Germany. I then end by noting that this racism has not ended, and has been brought to light recently by such events as the Monterey Park massacre and the death of Tyre Nichols.
