Author's Statement

This essay explains the heroism of two powerful women who devoted their lives to stand up and fight for what they knew to be right. I base my life around living in the most moral way I can, so I wanted to find two people who truly devoted their lives to goodness, and I was able to find that in these two women. They were in different fields of work and different time periods, but they both had a strong moral compass pointing them towards the same goal: making the world a better place.
