Composer's Statement

The piece is written in F minor and is played with violin and piano. This creates a somber tone that can be mixed easily with a soft tone in the bridge that symbolizes the moment of liberation. After this, the song repeats the beginning and transitions back into a dark mood. This is because liberation is not an immediate relief. Survivors still had to find a way to transition back to a normal life and live with the horrific things they saw.
